Solution:
The EMP reduced expenses while maintaining service coverage, allowing end users the ability to use their vendor of choice. University in the South

Program Inception: Fall 2007

This state university currently has more than 15,000 students, 3,000 faculty/staff and a campus covering 75 city blocks. As the state’s largest employer, it has evolved into a world-renowned research university and health care center.

Challenge:
Largely decentralized purchasing decisions resulting in excessive spending on overpriced maintenance agreements. Maintenance expenditures from year to year were dramatically increasing. Lack of control on service vendor behavior- no mechanism to measure if the level of services outlined in the agreements were being met.

Solution:

Combined over 200 individual maintenance contracts into one single agreement that clearly lists levels of coverage. More control over actual expenditures and vendor performance.

Sample Equipment Covered:
Centrifuges, Fax Machines, Incubators, Analyzers, Ultrasounds, MRIs, Copiers, Workstations, Microscopes, Mass Spectrometers, etc.
