Program Inception: Winter 2005
Located in the Southeastern region of the United States, this state has over 4.5 million residents.

Challenge:
The state wanted to cut costs while maintaining the same level of service. Varying records were unorganized and had inconsistent data. Equipment was hard to locate and condition was unknown. The state wanted to reduce the complexity and timeline for procurement.

Solution:
The EPS Program provided an immediate savings of 25% off of contract costs. Total transparency into the program allowed for the state to track each piece of equipment & contracts for equipment. Contract evaluation allowed for the state to see which pieces of equipment were better off replaced than repaired. Service contracts for equipment no longer used were found and cancelled. Administrative burden on the purchasing department was eliminated since each equipment purchase didn't have to be sent out for competitive bid.
